The Groovement Project Dance Company (GPDC) was founded in 2013 with a simple goal; to create a space where people of all ages and backgrounds could connect, grow, and thrive through dance and the performing arts.
Based in the heart of Plymouth City Centre, we’ve evolved into one of the UK’s leading dance and performing arts studios, offering over 40 weekly classes to students aged 4 and above. Whether you’re here for fun, fitness, or focused on turning your passion into a profession, there’s a place for you in the GP family.

At GPDC, we believe that everyone should feel welcome, supported, and inspired. That’s why we’ve built more than just a dance studio; we’ve built a community.
Our team of passionate, experienced teachers not only provide high-quality dance training, but also offer mentorship, guidance, and emotional support. All of our practitioners are trained mental health first aiders, helping to create a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment where students can be themselves, express freely, and grow with confidence.

We cater to all levels, from complete beginners to advanced dancers preparing for a career in the industry. Whether you’re popping in for a drop-in class to stay active, or training with the ambition of getting into prestigious UK dance colleges, our classes are designed to support your personal goals and growth.
Our extensive timetable includes Street Dance, Contemporary, Commercial, Jazz, Acro, Musical Theatre, and more; taught by experienced professionals who understand what it takes to succeed both on and off the stage.
Proudly Crowned
Achievements That Speak for Themselves
GPDC has quickly become one of the most successful and recognised dance schools in the country. Most recently, we were proudly crowned SHC Top Scoring Dance School in the UK for the 2023–2024 Street Dance Competition Season. A huge achievement that reflects the dedication and talent of our students and staff. This is in addition to winning numerous UDO British titles in 2025, adding to our mass of individual and group titles and trophies won all over the UK over the past 12 years; cementing our reputation as one of the leading dance companies in the UK.
We also constantly strive to provide local, national and international opportunities, including taking a group of dancers to LA in 2015, 2017, 2022 and 2025 to train at the world’s leading studios, as well as performing at the world-famous Universal Studios Hollywood and Disneyland California.
Our dancers have also performed at some of the biggest UK arenas including at the O2 Arena in London, Utilita Arena in Birmingham and the Emirates Arena in Glasgow as the ‘Super Basketball League Dance Squad,’ being streamed to millions of viewers all over the world through Sky Sports, YouTube and DZN.
In addition to arenas, some of our GPDC Alumni have performed on West-End & UK Tours, including the UK Tour of Matilda, as well as on-screen in a mass of castings for TV and Film through our GP Agency.
But beyond the medals, national and international recognition, we’re proudest of the life-changing experiences we offer.
