From Plymouth to the World Stage: GPDC’s 2025 Successes

Before we move onto looking at what we have achieved so far in 2026, we wanted to take a look back at all of our incredible achievements in 2025!

Our dancers achieved some amazing competition results, collecting over 400 trophies across England and Wales. This includes 11 British Champions titles at UDO and SHC, alongside an impressive 52-first place finishes.

Beyond the competition circuit, we have continued to make our mark on major stages with another year supplying the dance squad for the Super League Basketball finals. We gave some of Plymouth’s talented young performers the opportunity to perform at iconic venues including London’s O2 Arena, Birmingham’s Utilita Arena, and the Nottingham Motorpoint Arena. The team have already returned to Birmingham and performed at Manchester this year, and are due to perform at the London O2 Arena later this month!

Our international presence is also continuing to grow, with us taking a group of 12 young dancers to Los Angeles, California, where they trained at world-renowned studios (including Millennium Dance Complex and Playground LA) and performed at globally recognised venues such as Disneyland California and Universal Studios LA. This summer, we have one team and two soloists travelling to Dublin after qualifying for the prestigious Dance World Cup, proudly representing Team England against competitors from across the globe.

Alongside performance and training, we are dedicated to creating professional opportunities for our dancers through our GP Agency. In 2025, we organised 42 castings for young performers in Plymouth, including alumni Amy Shakerley being cast in James Arthur’s last series of music videos, as well as four dancers performing in the Theatre Royal Plymouth’s Christmas pantomime.

However, we like to believe that our impact goes far beyond trophies and stage lights. At its core, our studio is built on community. It provides a safe, supportive environment where young people can build confidence, form lasting friendships, and express themselves creatively. In recognition of this, we were honoured to be named one of four Devon finalists in the BBC Make A Difference Awards.

In 2025 alone, we delivered over 260 sessions to more than 300 dancers age 4 to 50+. With over 20 styles on offer, we cater to everyone – from those dancing recreationally to elite competition teams. Our doors are always open to welcoming new dancers, contact us today to start your journey.
