From Studio to Stadium: Supplying the Super League Basketball Dance Squad

For the fifth consecutive year, The Groovement Project Dance Company proudly supplied the dance squad for the Super League Basketball finals, performing in some of the UK’s biggest arena including the London O2 Arena, Manchester AO Arena and Utilita Arena Birmingham.

Across the three cities, the SLB finals brought basketball and entertainment to an audience of over 50,000 fans this season – with thousands more tuning in online through YouTube and DAZN. Opportunities like this, in a high-energy live sports environment, give dancers a real insight into the professional dance industry beyond the studio setting.

We were continually impressed by the professionalism, maturity and grace shown by every dancer throughout the season. From rehearsals to arena call times, our dancers represented GPDC with dedication, positivity and professionalism at every event.

A massive thank you to everyone who supported us this season: Super League Basketball for trusting us to perform at the finals, Kelly Fletcher from House of Vogue for our hair and makeup, our coaches (Ellen Coulton, Drew Shears and Jordan Moss) for their training and choreography, and also to all the families and friends who came to support us at the finals!

At The Groovement Project Dance Company, we are passionate about creating opportunities that bridge the gap between training and the professional industry. We are incredibly grateful to be able to continue building opportunities like this for our dancers and cannot wait to see what the future holds.
